Get Involved
What good is information if you are not going to act upon it? What good is knowledge if its not shared? Once informed, our responsibility is to get involved and not necessarily in any grandiose fashion. Too often we fall into the trap into believing that we must invest our time in grand projects to make a positive impact on the well being of our communities. The truth of the matter is that a minimal commitment of time in a community-based organization, participation in a block or tenant association, involvement in a school PTA, attending local government meetings, or the simple act of voting, yields BIG dividends.
So where does that leave you? Navigate through this section of the site to become a member of SAAM. It’s free! We have also provided an Events Calendar to keep you abreast of activities throughout the New York metropolitan region. If you are ready to take a hands-on approach, and move from theory to practice, you can also join one of the many organizations we have listed. You can also show your support for SAAM by making a contribution toward our efforts.
